🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Share Frustration About Sizing Changes Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing. This online marketplace has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all users about the change. Digital Channels Reaction Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services. They have suggested members to check their listings and manually change the size if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Modifications Earlier, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Experiences Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
